King Street is two-way, the way streets were meant to be. Look carefully and you'll spot an electric HSR streetcar coming down the line.
There was lots of electrified light-rail based in Hamilton at the time. One line ran to Grimsby and Beamsville. Another to Dundas. Another went up the escarpment to Ancaster and Brantford. And one ran out to the Beach Strip, then on to Burlington and Oakville.[1]
